Schon’s extensive knowledge of the ear makes him a recognized expert in the detection of hearing loss, not only among the staff but within the profession as well. Starting his audiological career in 1998, he is a Hearing Care Specialist with a comprehensive knowledge of the latest advances in digital hearing technology. Through the years, Schon has dispensed and adjusted thousands of hearing instruments.

Born and raised in Butler, Schon’s roots are still in Western PA. He lives in Slippery Rock with his wife, Amy. His two adult sons are professionals in the surrounding communities. Schon is also a Registered Nurse, following the honored traditions of ethics and honesty the profession is known for. He is board certified to practice in Pennsylvania and has received advanced training both locally and nationally.

Stephen Martz grew up in Brookville, Pennsylvania. He is a Hearing Care Provider and Hearing Instrument Specialist. Stephen received his Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. He became a Hearing Care Provider in 2023. Stephen's background in the fields of speech pathology and audiology gives him a well-rounded approach and expertise to care for each individual. His passion for helping individuals hear better facilitates a comfortable, informative, and helpful environment.

The idea of treating everyone like family guides Stephen through his professional and personal life. When he's not working, Stephen enjoys taking in the thrill of an NFL game, watching a live show at the theater, or just spending time with loved ones. His hobbies include music, art, fishing, and enjoying time with friends and family.

An absolutely awesome experience for my mother who is 96 years old. Extremely friendly and courteous staff and my mother was treated with such wonderful care, actually got a pair of hearing aids that are working perfectly for her. Absolutely recommend them.

I went to Hearing Life for a hearing exam and landed up with hearing aids, I was so impressed with such a thorough exam and the explanation of speech clarity vs sound and volume. I never wore hearing aids before and I honestly couldn’t feel or see them. I have already recommended Hearing Life (in new Castle, Pa) to my son and different friends. I am more than pleased with my hearing aids.

Great place. Personal service by the front office as well as from Sean. He was thorough with the exam as well as the fitting for my hearing aids. They offer a great warranty for my hearing aids. Will definitely recommend as well as continue my business with them.
