I contacted Hearing Doctors of Georgia to schedule an appointment for a hearing test and to explore the possibility of obtaining new hearing aids. I was clearly told that my insurance was accepted and that the hearing test would be free and complimentary.
When I arrived for my scheduled appointment, I was informed that the provider who was supposed to assist us, Mia, was in a meeting and would be out shortly. After waiting approximately 45 minutes, Mia finally came out and informed me that they do not accept my insurance.
This situation is unacceptable. I was misinformed when I scheduled the appointment, and no one verified my insurance coverage ahead of time. Verifying benefits before an appointment is a basic responsibility of any medical office. Claiming that benefits are only verified on the day of the appointment shows poor office procedures and a lack of professionalism.
I wasted time and effort coming to this appointment under false information. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication, organization, and accountability at this office.
Update:
Today I received a call from Chris with Hering Doctors of Georgia, and he sincerely apologized for the inconvenience. We discussed and explored several ways they could assist us, even though they do not accept my insurance. He was very willing to help in any way possible.
Chris was genuinely concerned about this situation, and that speaks very highly of him and the staff at Hearing Doctors of Georgia. It leads me to believe that what happened was likely an unintentional miscommunication on their end.
I truly appreciate his call, understanding, and assistance today.
Without an appointment this day, Mia was able to clean and correct and return to me. I was able to get an appointment soon but this was necessary to hear better now! They are a great group with huge hearts!
Had a delightful experience today. Even though they cannot furnish new hearings aids due to my health insurance coverage, Dr Zoey took the time to speak with me as well as clean & check my current aids. I highly recommend this office should you require hearing services.

Dr. Jennifer Tinkey completed her undergraduate degree at Pennsylvania State University and received her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of South Florida. Dr. Tinkey began working with Hearing Doctors of GA in 2015. Dr. Tinkey’s areas of special interest include hearing aid technology and adults. Dr. Tinkey enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her three dogs, watching college football, and getting to Disney every chance she gets. Her passion also extends to the Newnan community as she volunteers with Hearts and Homes Rescue supporting Coweta Humane Society.

Solomiya Wright is a Hearing Instrument Specialist who received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and Sciences from Kean University in New Jersey in 2009 and received her Hearing Aid Dispensing License in Georgia in 2017. Before joining HearingLife, Solomiya practiced as a hearing aid specialist in various clinic settings. She first started working with hearing aids in 2014 as an audiology assistance for a private practice audiology group in the Atlanta area. Shortly after, her passion for audiology grew and she wanted to continue to help patients hear and she furthered her education.
Her experience, expertise and exceptional client care makes Solomiya the perfect fit for the HearingLife team. Originally from Ukraine, she now in the Georgia with her family and enjoys cooking, entertaining, and going to the beach.
