Linda from Wisconsin wrote to tell us how much she missed being able to talk with family, including her 90-year-old mother and 4-year-old grand-nephew, as her hearing continued to decline after a domestic incident in 1997. She hoped for a holiday of hearing and connecting with her loved ones, which we were able to give her.

Another recipient was Angela in Washington, DC. Her daughter nominated her for the gift of hearing aids so she could enjoy all the holidays had to offer. “She is truly the best role model of not letting other people make you become bitter because of your disability,” her daughter said. “I wanted to make her feel better, wanted her to be more confident, so I thought I’d enter her.” After being fitted for the new hearing aids, Angela could not hold back her tears. She said, “This is awesome. This is an awesome experience.”
